The Commitment of the Municipality of Badolato
Gerardo Mannello – Mayor of Badolato

Valorization and Territorial Synergy
The Municipality of Badolato strongly promotes every artistic initiative aimed at enhancing our local heritage. First of all, we are pleased to present the exhibition project P_ReESISTENZE and the workshop P_ReESISTENZE/LAB. These works represent the spirit of our Village through an unprecedented perspective. Furthermore, the activation of synergies between the artist and the public paves the way for very positive social developments.

Participation and Cultural Networks
Secondly, citizens have been actively involved in creating captions in the Badolato dialect. Pino Codispoti’s exhibition has thus become the engine of an intergenerational dialogue. Consequently, the visual narrative has ignited a process of real community participation. Finally, the institutional support for this event confirms our desire to strengthen the strategic role of art in the growth of our territory.

An Anthropological Reflection on the Journey
Vincenzo Squillacioti – Director of “La Radice”

The Meaning of Human Memory
Pino Codispoti’s work lends itself to an exquisite anthropological reading of our human path. Indeed, man is a wanderer who often looks back to reflect on his own existence. For this reason, he feels the need to collect the “shards” of those who preceded him. Therefore, the camera lens captures fragments of a complex human archive that we all carry upon our shoulders.

The Power of Image and Dialect
In addition, a photograph taken with sensitivity can speak better than a thousand words. Thus, if the image vibrates the chords of the soul, it can be defined as a true work of art. Similarly, the author chose to enrich the journey using the local dialect. In conclusion, this choice bestows a precious documentary value, preserving a language that is unfortunately facing extinction.

An Archaeological Excavation of the Soul
Paolo Giulierini – Director of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples

Between Abandonment and Rebirth
Observing these photographs is equivalent to taking a temporal journey into the past. Essentially, it is an excavation among houses that once hosted life and emotions. However, even where abandonment reigns, life always rises powerfully through nature. In fact, roots and trees replace people in a new world that art manages to capture with precision.

The Return of Man
Subsequently, thanks to this extraordinary project, the ancient voices of the village are heard once again. In this way, the miracle of the return of man repeats itself, and photography documents its triumph. For this reason, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples proudly supports this exhibition. Ultimately, our mission is to recover the past to build a more conscious future, open to all forms of culture.

The Poetics of P_ReESISTENZE
Pino Codispoti – Artist

Traces of a Homeland
P_ReESISTENZE is a project that traverses the history of Badolato, my place of birth. Specifically, I have collected memories and traces that have shaped my artistic practice over time. Therefore, by focusing on ruins and decaying spaces, I sought to evoke the deep soul of these places. In short, objects corroded by time become testimonies of existences that must not be forgotten.

A Workshop of Collective Memory
On the other hand, this series of images stems from the urgency to retie the threads of collective memory. Precisely for this reason, I created the P_ReESISTENZE/LAB workshop to directly involve the community. Thanks to this, the shots were commented on by the true bearers of local culture. In summary, the exhibition has become a choral work entirely dedicated to memory as a priceless common good.
