Strong and generous, the olive tree dominates the landscape with its shimmering, silvery leaves. Its delicate lines are highlighted by the branches and the twists of the trunk, elevating the plant into a symbol of virtue, dogmas, and profound emotions. In this sense, the olive tree appears as a sculpture molded by nature itself. It represents a life that resists and persists, stubbornly overcoming the harshest weather conditions. Indeed, the plant roots itself tenaciously into the ground, reaching into the very depths of the earth. Over the years, it shapes itself into a complex structure of bold forms that define the character of the land.
Similarly, within the acrobatic contortions of the trunk and the textures of the bark, images intertwine—sometimes clear, sometimes merely hinted at. The photographic gaze caresses these spirals and the deep wounds of the wood, which preserve the essence of my homeland. After all, this culture is defined by a spirit of sacrifice and the commitment of those who work the land with dedication. Therefore, the farmer carries upon his own face and body those same wounds impressed by toil, remaining strong and resilient against the passage of time.
Finally, it is precisely from those gashes inflicted by time and the elements that a unique aura emanates. It stands as a symbol of life, its multiform interweaving, and its anthropomorphic shapes. Ultimately, this dynamism shapes the entire aesthetic of my work, transforming the suffering of the plant into pure artistic expression.
